Piney-Z
Plantation is one of the foremost communities of distinction in
Tallahassee. Located between Capital Circle NE and Apalachee
Parkway, Piney-Z is a wonderful area in which to live.
Piney-Z Plantation had its beginnings as a tranquil and
serene wooded plantation in the heart of Tallahassee. Piney-Z
has endured as a reminder of life during simpler times. Mother
Nature is all around, with rich foliage, tall trees, bodies of
water, and peaceful areas for wildlife.
The Eagleview section of PIney-Z is host to families
of bald eagles (hence the name). There are two active bald eagle
nesting sites in the center of the secondary protection zone, which
is encircled by the homes of Eagleview. This area is federally
protected as a wildlife preserve, and is one of our many treasures.

Piney-Z
also affords a rare find among communities in Tallahassee:
convenience. It’s prime location puts all of what Tallahassee has to
offer right around the corner. This neighborhood is close and
convenient to everything on the east side of Tallahassee, all the
way to downtown. In just five to ten minutes, you can be at The
Governor’s Square Mall, Target, Super Wal-Mart,
Publix, and the new Sam’s Club location being built now,
as well as many other shops and businesses. Tallahassee’s public
schools and state universities are a short distance away as well. No
community in Tallahassee offers more convenience than Piney-Z
Plantation.
As you look around this neighborhood, you will discover that
amenities are all around you. Lafayette Heritage Trail is the
ideal outdoor venue for jogging, biking, or simply taking a relaxing
stroll after work.
Piney-Z Plantation also offers amenities that other
communities don’t, including a spacious pool with lifeguards. The
pool also has a kiddie pool, separate from the main pool, with close
lifeguard supervision at all times. Contact Lance Rogers, our
Property Manager at the Piney-Z Club House for pool hours and more
information. Call 656-4007, or visit the
Piney-Z Homeowners Association
website.
For
the use of the residents is the Piney-Z Club House, which
serves as the hub for Piney-Z’s social activities. This building was
the home of the original landowners, and has been converted to serve
a variety of functions. Community and homeowner’s meetings are held
there, the manager’s office and community bulletin board are there,
as well as a full kitchen and banquet facilities for the use of
residents and their guests during special functions. Outdoor
concerts, receptions, parties, and all sorts of gatherings take
place at the Club House.
The Club House also houses the residents fitness center,
a basic gym with treadmills, workout equipment, full wall mirrors,
TV’s, and 24 hour secure access.
Children have a wonderful park with a playground at Piney-Z.
Families can be found there with their kids on any given day,
playing on the slides, tunnels, swings, bridges, rocking horses, and
other fun activities. Picnic tables and walking paths surround the
area, which is next to the Club House.
You can also go fishing at Piney-Z Lake, a 193 acre body of
water that has been dredged in preparation for a new park and other
facilities that are planned.
Piney-Z has provisions for future business opportunities, such as a
day care center, church, shopping area, and other conveniences that
will add to the attractiveness of this unique community. Inquire at
the Club House for more details.
Piney-Z is conveniently located near some other wonderful
resources:
Tom Brown Park is located just around the corner, and is a
great place to visit with all sorts of recreational activities such
as ball games, annual fireworks shows (many residents can see the
fireworks from their back yards!), concerts, balloon rallies, a
great playground, and many other public functions for the whole
family.
Lake
Lafayette is a crystal lake, perfect for fishing, canoeing,
family picnics, watching wildlife, or just spending a lazy Sunday
afternoon.
Also several minutes away on Mahan Drive is the
Tallahassee Antique Car Museum. Owned by local
businessman Devoe Moore, this museum has a most amazing array of
antique and contemporary automobiles, movie cars, and other
interesting antiquities and collections. It is also home to a host
of Batman memorabilia, including two Batmobiles from recent films,
and the original Batcycle from the 60’s TV show. There are fully
restored antique cars from every decade; Packards, Duesenbergs,
Model T’s, and even a Tucker. Sports cars, hotrods, and many other
rare automobiles are found in this unique collection.
You will be hard-pressed to find another community in Tallahassee
that has so much to offer. Piney-Z Plantation must be visited to be
appreciated. Bill Groover would be more than happy to show you what
you’ve been missing in your present community. Give him a call
